is OS 32-bit?
is Oracle 32-bit?

OS configuration issue.
Oracle is victim; not the culprit.

There was some issue with the swap space which was rectified by our OS level admins. This issue occurred as the refreshment of swap was not performed automatically. We are out of issue now.
