Oracle Media Server was a multimedia system for interactive TV delivery that ran on various general-purpose systems. Media Server handled the storage, retrieval, and management of movies, music, photographs, and text articles.

The Media Server client software ran on Macs, PCs and set-top boxes. It was designed to store and disseminate multiple streams of text (news), images, audio and video-on-demand.

History[edit]

Media Server was first introduced in 1993. It is unclear when is was desupported and what migration path was provided (if any) to newer software suites.
